What does the casting process look like?
Every story begins with an application. If you or someone you know is struggling with severe clutter or hoarding and is ready to share their story, we encourage you to reach out. Our casting process is designed to help us learn about your situation, your home, and what you hope to accomplish.
After submitting an application, our production team will review the information, photos, and videos provided. If we believe your story may be a good fit for America’s Biggest Hoarders, a member of our team may contact you for an initial phone or video conversation. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about your circumstances, answer questions about filming, and discuss what participation in the series could involve.
From there, selected applicants may move through additional conversations and pre-production planning before a final casting decision is made. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or participation in the show. No filming will take place without the necessary agreements and permissions.
If selected, our team will work with you to plan the filming process, understand your goals, and prepare for the cleanup. Every situation is different, so the scope of assistance and filming schedule may vary from episode to episode.
Most importantly, America’s Biggest Hoarders is interested in real people and real stories. You don't need a perfect explanation for how things reached this point, and you don't need to clean up before applying. We want to see the situation as it truly is and hear, in your own words, why you're ready for change.
Think your story could be right for the show? Apply today and tell us about it.
