Jason Ruppert

Jason Ruppert is the creator and executive producer of America’s Biggest Hoarders, a documentary-style series dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by hoarding disorder while sharing the deeply personal stories behind the clutter. Jason created the series in September 2024 after learning that a longtime, popular television series about hoarding had been canceled. Seeing an opportunity to continue telling these important stories in a compassionate and respectful way, he set out to build a show centered not only on the cleanup, but on the people living behind the doors of these homes. As creator and executive producer, Jason is involved in nearly every aspect of bringing an episode to life. He oversees much of the behind-the-scenes production, including casting and developing each participant’s story alongside individuals who hoard and their families. His goal is to ensure that every story presented on the show is truthful, personal, and told with dignity. Production takes Jason across the country and into homes experiencing conditions that most people will never encounter firsthand. He and his team have worked in severe hoarding environments involving biohazards, insect infestations, and animals—both living and deceased. Regardless of the circumstances, Jason believes every participant deserves to be treated with compassion and without judgment. In the field, Jason conducts the interviews seen throughout the series and handles much of the filming himself, occasionally working alongside additional camera operators and production assistants. He also works closely with the show’s professional organizing experts, whose knowledge and compassion play an essential role in helping families move forward. For Jason, America’s Biggest Hoarders has become much more than a production. The participants, organizers, crew members, and others he has met along the way have become like an extended family. “It is truly an honor to be welcomed into these families’ homes during such a vulnerable time in their lives. No matter how severe the conditions may be, our job is never to judge. Our job is to listen, understand their story, and help in the best way we can.” Jason hopes to continue producing America’s Biggest Hoarders for many years to come and is incredibly grateful to the viewers, participants, families, experts, crew members, and supporters who make each episode possible.
